Robert Trappl has been researching in the field of artificial intelligence for over 40 years and heads the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (OFAI) in Vienna. The scientist has pioneered the development of robots based on human models. Trappl's research teams have succeeded in transferring human abilities such as spatial memory and navigation (mental maps) to computer models, for example. "We found that our model can handle around 90 percent of a person's work," says Trappl. Many processes will be executed in the future by intelligent systems. The question is how these developments are to be used, according to the expert.
