Researchers prepare new generation of implants
The materials scientist Firas Awaja works on the development of safe and durable medical implants. With the support of the Austrian Science Fund FWF, he and an interdisciplinary team have developed a new design for implants based on hybrid materials made of nano-, micro organic and inorganic thin films.
